- Familiarity with evidence-based standards
However, they signal a different professional context.
Health journalism and content marketing prioritize:
- Audience accessibility
- Narrative flow

- Brand or publication voice
If a writer’s samples are exclusively academic in tone, clients may reasonably conclude:
“This person may struggle to adapt to how we communicate.”
Again, this is not a value judgment. It’s a fit assessment.
Category 3: Client-Generated Writing Samples
Client-generated writing samples are pieces created for an organization and published by that organization.
These include:

- Blog posts published by nonprofits or associations
